Looking Back to My 10th Grade Journey

As someone who used to be a student in a private school, getting to SMAN 3 Bandung - which is not just a normal public school - was a blasting adventure. I would say I experienced more 'failure' in this period of time compared to the past years, but I am also more than grateful for getting to know many people and experiences that led me to a richer mindset about life.

One of the most interesting idea I found at the beginning of senior high school is 'jiwa kebersamaan' or solidarity. I never thought solidarity plays a big role in many aspects of our lives. When we have the feeling that we belong and have empathy for each other, many things can be done efficiently and effectively. Not only that but it also builds a mentally and socially healthy atmosphere in our surroundings.

I learned more about solidarity once I became a part of class X-3. I never thought these people would one day make me think that we are a one big family. They made me understand how to take the initiative in starting a goodness. They made me realize to never think we could not be friends if we had different passions. They made me learn how to objectify my ideas into reality without disregarding others' thoughts. I could say that being a part of class X-3 has been one of the biggest blessing I take for granted.

Yet, I don't only get priceless experiences in class. Many activities led me to more adventures. Take DKM Al-Furqan for example. Who would've thought DKM would feel like home. Being surrounded by humble and friendly people is surely pleasant to the hearts. Even though I'm no longer that active in this extracurricular, but people that I know from DKM would still greet me whenever we accidentally meet. Not just about the people, but the messages they deliver would make us feel as if we haven't made the best of becoming a servant of God - and that's what humbles my heart.

Academic competitions are some of my favorite things to do since primary and junior high school. I used to join storytelling contests before turning twelve. In junior high, I focused on upgrading my mathematics skills. I wasn't really a big fan of biology back then, but because I am aiming to become a doctor, then - like it or not - I should study hard on this subject. At last, I joined the biology group in the Trilogi extracurricular. Choosing biology was hard, yet I never knew I would learn about sincerity if I didn't choose this path.

Until the day came and I was clarified to become one of the school's representatives to join OSN-K. Though I wish for it that much, I never even thought I would be in this position and would always say that it's a fortune. This leads me to think that sometimes our expectations aren't the same as destiny. This also gives me hope in everything I would be doing just so I don't immediately have negative thoughts in certain conditions. There's always a lesson we can learn in anything we're facing in life. I also realize that God can easily raise the degree to whoever He wills, which means that there is nothing impossible to happen when God wills.

Life in senior high school went on until the day I published this blog. There are many more life lessons I learned that I didn't mention, such as treating others well, setting healthy boundaries, and also as simple as enjoying life. I'm really hoping the flaws I did this one year back would not repeat as I move to eleventh grade. Here's to many more life lessons to learn!
